Sunny Santorini: Volcano.
“Could there be fire on board?” I asked myself.
I was leaving the saloon, when Captain Nemo entered; he approached the thermometer, consulted it, and, turning to me, said:
“Forty-two degrees.”
“I have noticed it, Captain,” I replied; “and if it gets much hotter we cannot bear it.”
“Oh, sir, it will not get better if we do not wish it.”
“You can reduce it as you please, then?”
“No; but I can go farther from the stove which produces it.”
“It is outward, then!”
“Certainly; we are floating in a current of boiling water.”
“Is it possible!” I exclaimed.
“Look.”
The panels opened, and I saw the sea entirely white all round. A sulphurous smoke was curling amid the waves, which boiled like water in a copper. I placed my hand on one of the panes of glass, but the heat was so great that I quickly took it off again.
“Where are we?” I asked.
“Near the Island of Santorin, sir,” replied the Captain. “I wished to give you a sight of the curious spectacle of a submarine eruption.”

As I told you before, the Santorini archipelago is a collapsed volcano caldera. In the center there are two islands of black lava – the former cap of the volcano: Palea Kameni and Nea Kameni. The latter is avalable for excursions, I could not stand the temptation to visit the place where Captain Nemo was cooking fish soup right in the sea. The island numbers of 9 craters, most of those sleeping. But there are some live gas siphons, either mountain-high and underwater, so you can enjoy the smell of hell being still alive
Donkeys were the only kind of transport right up to 60′s but now are used mostly for tourist amusement. You may see how big and strong they are! This island is called Therasia:

I love the Greek islands….the beautiful white stone of the buildings contrasting with the deep blue sea. And Santorini looks really special.
I also love the way you’ve managed to make dressing “regularly” just a little bit kinky (the short shorts worn over pantyhose, the blue wig on your shaven head….). But did you go REALLY wild in your choice of costume anytime? I hope so!
